Elliott Garms

Founder & CEO, Happy Jeanne

Elliott Garms, Founder and CEO of Happy Jeanne

Elliott Garms is founder and CEO of Happy Jeanne, where he is building Jeanne, an AI recruiter for blue-collar and trades staffing. He grew up around recruiting. His father ran an executive recruiting firm and his mother a temp staffing agency, and his first job in high school was sourcing candidates for his father. At 21 he started his own staffing agency placing software engineers. He co-founded Dev Bootcamp Chicago, one of the first coding bootcamps, acquired by Kaplan in 2015, and has built HR-technology products including humanpredictions, acquired by Indeed in 2023. On the board, Elliott pressure-tests how TalentCraft applies AI, data, and recruiter workflow design, so the firm anticipates where hiring technology is going rather than reacting to it.

Looking ahead · the board's standing question

“Over the next decade I believe organizations will shift from hiring for capacity to hiring for adaptability as AI automates routine work and humans focus on judgment, strategy, and collaboration. Leaders should begin redesigning roles now, investing in continuous upskilling, and prioritizing candidates who can blend financial, operational, and technological fluency to work alongside AI to drive better outcomes.”
